Ban on Hijjab or attack on Islam?

We are all witnessing the fairly recent moves from different countries such as: France, Turkey, Uzbekistan, some parts of Germany and Holland to ban the Hijjab (scarf) worn by many Muslim Women. Some countries have tried to cover up there blatant attack on Islam under the guise of the ‘banning of all religious symbols’. Claiming, that religious symbols are used as political statements. What does that actually mean? Do they think that adhering to the commandments of Allah (swt) by wearing a scarf equals: a Muslim Women with an anti disestablishment attitude or some type of rebel! How further from the reality is this.

In the Holy Qur’an, Allah (swt) says:

"And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs…" (24:31)

“And they do not show their adornments except that which is apparent and let them draw their head coverings over their necks and bosom " (Surat An-Nur 31)

"O Prophet, tell your wives and daughters and the believing women that they should cast their outer garments over their bodies (when abroad) so that they should be known and not molested" (Quran 33:59).

Also, Imam Jaffer Sadiq (Radiyallahu Anhu.) says:

Modesty is the symbol of faith and whoever has no modesty (Hijab), has no religion."…

Also Ibn Jurayj narrated that the Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam) said;

“`Oh Aisha, when a woman reaches puberty then it is not permitted that any part of her body should be seen (by non-mahram men) except her face and what is below this.’ So he clenched his arm just above the joint of the hand leaving a space in between for another fist to be clenched.”

…So that they maybe known and not molested….Allah (swt) knows only too well the psychology of humankind. Modesty and Hijjab go hand in hand. It has been given to us like a precious gift of protection not as these secular leaders conveniently believe: for a political statement or a symbol of oppression (yes, that old chestnut). Sorry to burst the bubble of the secular leaders, of wanting to be knights in shinning amour, protecting and upholding the rights of Muslim Women.

A very apt comment written by a non muslim who said, ‘we should be more concerned what is in their heads and not what is on it’.

The whole idea about Hijjab and banning is becoming like a Mexican wave or a contagious disease. In other words, it’s spreading far and wide. Forget worrying about the predicted pandemic. Perhaps it’s linked to the chaos theory, maybe a butterfly has flapped its wings in Outer Mongolia and the world has gone chaotic. Shall we sit and wait for a Hijjab ban to occur in the UK or shall we start showing our solidarity towards our sisters by contacting relevant Governing bodies in outrage and by raising awareness. What do you think?
